BNUZ-SMU Summer Experience Program（SEP）
一、项目目的
奖励学习成绩优秀的学生，为他们提供在圣玛丽大学短期学习的机会，体验当地的生活，了解北美文化，丰富学习体验。
I.Project Objective
The Summer Experience Program (SEP) aims to encourage excellent students to have a better understanding of North American Culture and enrich their learning experience. This program will give students a chance to broaden their perspectives and observe student life in an international setting.
二、目标群体
公费生名额：专业排名前10%的学生可提出申请。针对年级：大二、大三，总资助人数不超过10人。
自费生名额：专业排名年级前50%学生优先，原则上自费名额不超过20人。
II.Target Students
Students sponsored by the Joint Program: Top 10% eligible to apply, sophomores and juniors up to a maximum of 10 students.
Self-funded students: Top 50% students have priority to apply, up to a maximum of 20 students.

III.Selection Rule
Students sponsored by the Joint Program:
1. Application Form
2. Personal Statement (including (i) a brief information about you and your interests, (ii) how this trip will help you achieve future goals and (iii) why should the program chose you)
3. Interview, if more than 10 students apply

四、项目时间
每年7-8月，圣玛丽大学夏季学期时间（共6周）。
IV.Time Schedule
July-August during Saint Mary’s University Summer Term (Six Weeks)
五、项目内容
（一）修读圣玛丽大学一门专业课程。
由学生自己在开课列表里选择，所选课程在满足先修课要求的基础上，可超出现有教学计划所列课程。
（二）利用圣玛丽大学学习资源，提高综合学习能力和跨文化交流能力。
（三）哈利法克斯文化之旅。
V.Project Content
a. Take one SMU course
Students select the course from the opening course list. Students can select any course from the summer course list as long as students meet the prerequisites and as long as the courses are open.
b. Use SMU academic resources such as the writing center, career advising center, etc. to improve comprehensive ability
c. Optional Cultural Activities in the Halifax area
六、费用
公费生：资助部分：机票费、签证费、保险费、课程费、住宿费（资助500加币，剩余部分自付）。（特别说明：按惯例，签证费、保险费和住宿费一般情况下须由公费生自行负担，励学计划为更好地鼓励和奖励学习成绩优秀的学生，特对此提供资助。）
自费生：自行负担费用，包括：机票费、签证费、保险费、课程费（约1950加币）、住宿费（约1,000加币），此部分小计约6000加币，具体金额以实际发生为准。
公费生和自费生均须自行负责：餐费、生活费、赴加拿大后的交通费及出游费用。
VI.Funds
Students sponsored by the Joint Program: Fee cover by SEP: Flight, Visa, Insurance, Tuition, 500CAD will be paid towards accommodation
Self-funded students: The following fees should cover by themselves: Flight, Visa, Insurance, Tuition (about 1,950CAD), Accommodation (about 1,000CAD if at the SMU residences), total cost estimated to be approximately 6,000CAD. All these amounts are estimates and have to be confirmed once a decision to travel is made.
All students should pay their own meal, living expenses, transportation and tour fee in Canada.
